A set of four plates commemorating America's Bicentennial produced in the 1970s in honor of the U.S. Bicentennial. These handmade plates were designed and produced by the prestigious Fenton Art Glass Company, and they were released in four consecutive years beginning in 1973. A final ceremony took place on July 4th, 1976 at Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the molds for the plates were publicly destroyed.
The plates were commissioned by the General Foundation of Women's Clubs. Each 8-inch decorator plate depicts one of the four major movements of our American Revolution.
